A meal with friends is always as good as the questions we ask each other. Too often we fall back on polite but not-so-inspired basics: “Do you have anything special planned for the weekend?” 'What are you doing?', and so on.

But there are better kinds of questions—questions that work like magic keys that open our hearts, dredge up our memories, and awaken our latent reserves of generosity, joy, and interest.

This package collects 80 such questions to ensure that a shared meal can be meaningful, entertaining and moving at the same time. The questions, written on place cards, gently and charmingly draw our fellow diners toward the kinds of topics that matter most to our deeper selves—and help us bring out the best in each other.

Instructions

1. Use 1 card per place setting.
2. Fold each card in half and add your guest's name. Now you can select who sits next to whom.
3. There are 2 questions on each card. Ask your guests to use them during the meal as a way to get to know their neighbors and have more interesting and meaningful conversations.
