Favorite sadness

A moving story about dealing with grief, taking with you what is beautiful and resilience.

A donkey goes out with a friend. One day his traveling companion falls and lies very still. The donkey cries inconsolably. When he rubs the tears from his eyes, a boulder lies where his friend lay. The donkey places the boulder in a basket and continues its journey alone with the heavy stone on its back. At first there is only sadness. Sometimes he is even angry with the stone or feels desperate... But the donkey does not give up. He starts a conversation with his stone and after a while he even cherishes his new friend a little.

One day the boulder disappeared. A beautiful diamond now sparkles at the bottom of the basket...
